Strategy To Win

Your poker game may be taking advantage of your wallet every time you play. There are poker players that may know things you don't and they may be using it against you to win your money. So it's time to get out of the fishbowl and learn something that you can use to defend against poker players who may know more about poker than you. The best poker players have refined strategies to win and they use these to beat any player at the table, even the ones holding better cards.
Odds and Ends
The odds of being dealt a pair of aces in Texas Hold'em are 1 in 220. The odds of winning an A-Q pre-flop against an A-K are 1 in 94. Cheat cards listing various 'hand-against-hand' odds in poker can be purchased to give you quick access to the odds which is an invaluable tool in poker to help you decide the right strategy to win. Only about a third of current poker players play well enough use odds to consistently win. Understanding card odds can tell you when to hold and when to fold any hand. When the odds are against you, a strategy play will not get other players off their hands. Instead, successful poker players use their knowledge of odds to get other players calling when they should fold, and folding when they should call. Solid knowledge of odds is a strong advantage.
The Best Offense
One of the best poker offenses is an aggressive betting strategy. When an aggressive play is initiated weak hands are put in a defensive position because they are threatened by the possibility that they will lose a big pot to a better hand. This technique is an excellent way to win more pots without a showdown. Aggressive plays have been on the rise in professional tournament play where aggression has even been shown to have more benefits than in a cash game. Moving 'all in' on weak hands is not considered an aggressive play. Players who are considered aggressive and win consistently know which hands to be aggressive with and why. Aggression results during a superior hand, a superior position, or results from weak plays by the other players at the table. Aggressive players win more pots without a showdown than the average player does because they employ strategic betting practices control the play, presenting a winning hand whenever they play a hand.
Position Play
Your seat on the table remains the same but the position of the dealer moves. Because of the rotation of the betting order, your seat will be in a late position for some of the time and in an early position for the rest. Early positions must designate a move before the players who are up next. When your position is at, or near the end, you can take advantage of hands that no one is interested in by betting into the hand -even when weak. This type of play can be won against table hands that are weak but should be folded when faced with a re-raise. Position play is proven to work and it can give you more money to play with when used correctly.
