Kirk is an average Joe that can’t believe his luck when a successful and outrageously gorgeous babe, falls for him. Now he has to figure out how to make the relationship work, even though she’s totally out of his league.
Plot
In the comedy “She’s Out of My League,” Kirk (Jay Baruchel, “Knocked Up,” “Tropic Thunder”), is an average Joe, stuck in a seemingly dead-end job as an airport security agent. Molly (Alice Eve) is a successful event planner and outrageously gorgeous babe. Accidentally leaving her phone behind at the airport, Molly calls her phone, which is answered by Kirk who has found it. She invites Kirk to a party to return her phone when she returns. Finding that Kirk is kind, entertaining, sincere, and different from the men she has been dating she asks Kirk out. Kirk is stunned. So are his friends, his family and even his ex-girlfriend. After talking with his friends, he is convinced that he doesn't have a chance, because he is only rated as a "5" and Molly is a "10." This leaves Kirk very insecure. Now he has to figure out how to make the budding relationship work, even though she’s totally out of his league.
Impression
This is one of the most entertaining films I have seen so far this year. The cast is great in their parts, the script is hilarious and at the same time the story allows you to relate to the characters in a way that also tugs at the heart. I also have to praise the movie for not throwing cheap obstacles in, such as the expected romantic rivalry between Eve's fighter-pilot ex-boyfriend and Kirk. Complete with a good soundtrack and a nice upbeat score, this movie delivers a fun night out.
Verdict
I highly recommend seeing this movie with friends. It is a very fun and enjoyable flick that will surely put everyone in a good mood. 4.5 out of 5 stars
