SM: Is this your third stop on the TCB tour?

JD: Yes.

SM: How do you like Canada so far?

JD: The weather is really back and forth.
DK: We have never been to this part of the country before.
JD: Canada has more hot girls than anywhere else. Why is that? I don’t get it.

SM: I guess we breed them well. Ha Ha. What type of connection would you hope your fans would will with your music?

JD: It changes from song to song. For the more serious songs of a serious subject matter, we are actually trying to help people. Kids will listen and, hopefully, actually take something from it. Then there are other songs where we talk about things kids take too seriously. Like, to go out and shoot somebody or something. We joke around a lot, but I am just saying.
DK: Some kids will come up to us and be like “oh I’m a badass, I’m drinking and driving” or “I’m taking a bag of mushrooms” and, it’s like, that’s not really what we want to hear.
JD: Sometimes, just because we do that stuff or we talk about it, we are not necessarily telling people to go out and do that. They should take something positive and fun out of the other types of songs.

SM: When you each go back home, do people who knew you growing up treat you any differently now? How do you react to that?

JD: Fuck yeah. It’s weird. We go home and people act like we have changed. We haven’t. We are still the same people. People we knew will come up to us and say things like “oh, I saw you on MTV last night. I guess your famous now huh? Too cool to hang out?” I never got a chance to hang out, you know. “Why don’t you hang out with us anymore?” I just got home and the other times I was on tour. I can’t be in two places at once. Some people treat you different because they are jealous I guess. You are out doing stuff and they are sitting at home. Some people don’t care. It just depends. It shows you who your true friends are. Every band says that; the bigger bands get, the more people start showing their true colors.
DK: Plus we are only home for such short periods of time. We are with each other everyday all day and its nice when we go home to just hang out at home for a couple days. Sure, we want to hang out with our real friends and we try.

SM: Fame or Fortune? Why?

DK: Fortune. Look at people who become really famous – its terrible.
JD: Yeah. Who cares about fame? I already did well with girls at home, not to sound arrogant, and I don’t really care if people know who I am. I don’t want to be stopped when I am walking down the street. With money I can buy stuff. I can go scuba diving or sky diving or any diving. I like that stuff.
